Business Wire, June 26, 1995
CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 26, 1995--SunExpress, Inc., the aftermarketing company of Sun Microsystems, Inc., today announced that it will expand North America business operations into Canada. Sun customers in Canada will have direct access via toll-free telephone and fax to the SunExpress product offerings and information needed to enhance and expand their existing SPARC and Solaris computing environments. SunExpress will provide customers with responsiveness, fast delivery of products and easy ordering capabilities. Sun has been in Canada for more than 10 years and SunExpress' move into the market is a natural extension of business operations.
Canadian customers will have the convenience of doing business with a company geared towards addressing their purchasing preferences. Telephone calls from customers in Canada will be routed through SunExpress' North America headquarters in Chelmsford, MA to bi-lingual telesales representatives who speak English and French. All transactions take place locally; invoices show local language, Canadian currency and local sales tax, and payments are made to a local bank.
Art Carty, vice president and general manager for SunExpress North America, said: "With an installed base of over 35,000 Sun workstations in Canada, customers have asked for the kind of convenience and customer service provided by SunExpress. SunExpress complements other channels by offering quick and easy access to products and information needed to enhance enterprise computing solutions for Sun's aftermarket."
"SunExpress provides Sun customers with another choice for accessing the add-on products and information they need every day. We are happy to have this additional service from SunExpress available to our installed base throughout Canada," said Sun Microsystems of Canada, Inc. president Everett Anstey.
