CSC signs outsourcing agreement with Guinness Brewing Great Britain

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 1995--Computer Sciences Corp. (NYSE:CSC) and Guinness Brewing Great Britain Monday announced the signing of a ten-year outsourcing pact.
The agreement calls for CSC to manage the company's information technology resources including midrange operations, applications development and desktop services. In addition, CSC will give Guinness Brewing Great Britain (GBGB) access to its business reengineering skills to help the company apply information technology for competitive advantage.
As part of the agreement, CSC will acquire GBGB's information technology assets including computers, local area networks and software. CSC will maintain and operate GBGB's data center. In addition, 55 jobs will transfer to CSC.

GBGB is the second Guinness business unit to transfer its information technology services to CSC. In March, United Distillers in the U.K. signed a similar ten-year pact.
Both contracts are part of a ten-year umbrella agreement signed by parent company Guinness PLC and CSC in March 1995. The agreement made CSC Guinness' preferred worldwide outsourcing supplier for its operating units spanning North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and South America.

Guinness PLC is one of the world's leading beverage companies, producing, distributing and marketing premium brands in more than 130 countries. Annual revenues are about $7.5 billion. Guinness Brewing Worldwide, which employs 12,000 people, brews Guinness stout, along with other well-known brands like Harp lager, Cruzcampo lager and Red Stripe.
United Distillers, the spirits company, employs 10,000 people and markets over 100 brands including Johnnie Walker and Dewar's Scotch whiskies and Gordon's and Tanqueray gins.
Computer Sciences had $3.4 billion in annual revenues for the 12 months ended March 31, 1995. The company is headquartered in El Segundo, and has 32,000 employees in 575 offices worldwide. CSC provides clients with a wide range of professional services including management consulting; business reengineering; information systems consulting and integration; and outsourcing.
