Cooper appoints Battin Associates communications consultant

FORT LEE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 1995--The Cooper Companies Inc. (NYSE:COO) announced today it has appointed Battin Associates of Newport Beach, Calif., to direct its communications activities with investors and the media.

D.F. King & Co. Inc. will continue to manage Cooper's financial disclosure and proxy solicitation activities.

Battin Associates is headed by B. Norris Battin, formerly senior vice president of Public Affairs and Communications for Allergan Inc., a major producer of eye and skin care products. Battin Associates was formed in 1991 to provide healthcare firms with marketing strategy, research and communications services. During 30 years in the healthcare industry, Battin has held senior positions in marketing and strategic planning, advertising, public affairs and investor relations with leading pharmaceutical and device manufacturers and consulted for healthcare manufacturers, advertising and public relations firms.

The Cooper Companies Inc., through its subsidiaries develops, manufactures and markets specialty healthcare products and services. CooperVision Inc., headquartered in Irvine, Calif., with manufacturing facilities in Huntington Beach, Calif., Rochester, N.Y., and Toronto and Montreal, Canada, markets a range of contact lenses for the vision-care market.
