Simware automates remote LAN accesswith enhanced support for NetWare login scripts in A2B software; A2B is the only remote LAN access product that offers special automation strength to support Novell login capability from within Windows

Business Wire, March 13, 1995

OTTAWA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 13, 1995--Simware Inc. today simplified the remote LAN access challenge for Windows PC users by enhancing its support of NetWare login scripts in its popular A2B remote connectivity software.

The company announced a new release of A2B available as a no-charge enhancement for all existing A2B 3.0 customers.

A2B lets remote and mobile workers access any network resource on their company's LAN, and go through the LAN to reach information stored on mainframes, minicomputers, the Internet and other TCP/IP hosts from their Windows PCs using a single connectivity program and one call. A2B automates the entire connection and communications process.

"A2B now supports the vast majority of Novell login scripts already written by LAN administrators without any modifications," said Christopher Fedorko, Simware's vice president of marketing. "No other remote LAN access product offers support for NetWare's built-in login script capability for Windows PC users."

Login scripts are typically created by NetWare LAN administrators to automate the way departments or individual users log on to the network. Administrators write both system-wide and individual-user scripts to help users automatically set up their LAN environment such as: map drives, attach to file servers, launch applications, synchronize files on client machines and perform other start-up actions automatically.

A2B also supports custom login scripts, such as those optimized for users who sometimes connect while "on the road" and other times while in the office. For example, the user may not what his printer output to be directed to the office printer when he is on the road.
