First Data names A. Wayne Johnson president of ACB Business Services

HACKENSACK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 1995--First Data Corporation (NYSE:FDC) today announced that A. Wayne Johnson has been named president of ACB Business Services, FDC's receivables management unit. Johnson has also been named to First Data Corporation's Management Committee.
"Wayne's broad background will help guide ACB to greater growth and market leadership," said Bob Levensen, FDC executive vice president, to whom Johnson will report. "Wayne brings to ACB and its clients extensive experience in the banking and credit card industry, specifically in the area of collections and credit services support. His appointment reflects First Data Corporation's strong commitment to ACB in our long-range strategic plans."
ACB Business Services is one of the nation's largest third-party receivables management companies. With 1,300 employees, ACB is headquartered in Phoenix and has 19 additional sites in 14 states. ACB currently services more than 200 clients and offers a full range of receivable management services, including: transaction processing; pre-collection services; backlog resolution; third-party payment processing; automated billing; and comprehensive collection services.
Johnson, 43, was previously Executive Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Planning at First Data Card Services Group, also a unit of FDC. Johnson's responsibilities at Card Services Group included oversight of the product management, strategic planning, client and business consulting, marketing and public relations areas.
Prior to joining First Data in 1992, Johnson was founder and CEO of Qualitec, an Atlanta-based mail marketing systems integration company, which was acquired by First Data in 1992. Before forming Qualitec, he was founder and CEO of Integratec, which provided assistance to both financial and healthcare businesses.
Previously, Johnson was executive vice president of VISA USA. Earlier he was president and CEO for First Interstate Bancard Co., N.A., and was also a partner with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells.
Johnson earned his B.A. in economics and sociology at Mercer University, Macon, Ga. He also holds a master's degree in business administration from Emory University, Atlanta.
