Karl H. Meister retires as president and CEO at Carrington Labs Inc

IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 1995--Carrington Laboratories, Inc., (AMEX:CRN) and Karl H. Meister announced that Meister is retiring from his position as a director and as president and chief executive officer, effective today, March 22, 1995.
"My goal of turning Carrington Laboratories, Inc., into a solid operating company with a very exciting future is basically complete, and I am anxious to pursue new challenges which offer similar opportunities," said Meister.
"We very much appreciate the accomplishments of Karl Meister during his tenure with Carrington Laboratories, Inc., and his untiring efforts to establish the company as a leader in complex carbohydrate technology for health care products," said Selvi Vescovi, chairman of the board of Carrington. "We thank Karl for his great accomplishments and wish him well in whatever new ventures he decides to undertake."
In addition to his current responsibilities, Vescovi will also become acting president and chief executive officer of Carrington. Prior to his retirement in 1988, Vescovi was a corporate officer of the Upjohn Company and president and general manager of Upjohn International, Inc.
Carrington Laboratories, Inc., is an emerging research-based pharmaceutical and medical device company engaged in developing complex carbohydrate-based therapeutics and in manufacturing and marketing products for the management of wounds.
