Westpoint Stevens Inc. Completes Repurchase Of 1,000,000 Shares

WEST POINT, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 1995--WestPoint Stevens Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:WPSN) today announced that it has completed the repurchase of 1,000,000 shares of the Company's common stock for an average price of $13.89 per share. The stock repurchase program began after the Company announcement on November 29, 1994, that it intended to repurchase up to 1,000,000 shares of its common stock to be held in the Company's treasury for general corporate purposes.
WestPoint Stevens is the nation's leading manufacturer and marketer of bed and bath textile products and accessories, and is also, through its Alamac subsidiary, a leading domestic manufacturer of circular knit sportswear fabrics. Its consumer products are marketed under the well-known brand names of MARTEX, UTICA, STEVENS, VELLUX and LADY PEPPERELL, and under licensed designer labels, including RALPH LAUREN, COLLIER-CAMPBELL, LOUIS NICHOLE, SANDERSON, and LIBERTY OF LONDON.
