Business Wire, May 12, 1995

WORCESTER, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 1995--Spectacor Management Group (SMG) today announced the appointment of Sandra Dunn as the new general manager of the Centrum.

``Sandy Dunn is a familiar face in Worcester who knows the Centrum, literally, from top to bottom,'' said Wes Westley, SMG president. ``Sandy is a wonderful SMG and Worcester success story, having risen from a receptionist at the Centrum in 1983 to her most recent position as general manager of the Niagara Falls Arena and Convention Center. Sandy is ideally suited to continue the growth and success of the Centrum.''

Dunn was promoted to director of events at the Centrum in 1989 before becoming the Niagara GM in 1991.

``I love Worcester so this is a terrific homecoming,'' Dunn said. ``I'm looking forward to working with city leaders to see the Centrum Civic Center project through to completion, and to enhance the venue to make it a premier entertainment arena in New England.''

Dunn, who holds a degree in communications from Allegheny College, replaces John Wentzell, who departs after three years as general manager to pursue other business opportunities.

SMG is the leading private management company for public assembly facilities worldwide. The firm operates 21 convention centers and exhibition halls for a total of more than 3.7 million square feet of exhibition space. Over 75 percent of all privately managed exhibition space in the United States is managed by SMG. The firm also operates arenas, stadiums, theaters and amphitheaters in the U.S. and Europe.
