Softool Corp. ships CCC/Manager 3.0 for IBM's OS/2 Warp; native OS/2 software change and configuration management solution with true 32-bit support
Business Wire, May 15, 1995
GOLETA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 1995--Softool Corp., the technological leader in software change and configuration management (CM), Monday announced general availability of CCC/Manager version 3.0, the industry's first native CM solution for OS/2 developers.
Release 3.0 contains significant enhancements, including a 100 percent speed increase on check-in and check-out functions, improved access control and reporting capabilities and an optimized fast migration function.
In addition, CCC/Manager version 3.0 is the industry's first CM tool to add support for change and configuration management of UNIX and Macintosh source code from the OS/2 platform. CCC/Manager 3.0 also includes a major restructuring of the underlying code, resulting in greater portability across PC platforms including OS/2, Windows and Windows NT.
Users with mixed PC environments will benefit from closely coordinated release cycles and similar functionality across platforms.
"With OS/2 Warp becoming increasingly accepted by the marketplace, application developers need a more robust solution to help them manage their development and maintenance process," said Rich Hug, vice president of research and development for Softool.
"CCC/Manager goes way beyond simple version control tools and home-grown solutions, providing developers with a robust and proven CM architecture that includes powerful lifecycle modeling, easy and efficient migrations, multiple baselines, change packages and complete audit histories."
CCC/Manager 3.0 for OS/2 is shipping Friday and is priced at $495 per single user license with quantity discounts available. CCC/Manager 3.0 for Windows and Windows NT will be available in June 1995. For more information, contact Softool at 805/683-5777 or send E-mail to info("at-sign")softool.com.
