Gannett shareholders re-elect four members of the board of directors

ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 1995--Gannett shareholders today re-elected four members of the board of directors at Gannett's annual meeting at the company's corporate headquarters here.

They are:

Andrew F. Brimmer

Stuart T.K. Ho

Douglas H. McCorkindale

Rollan D. Melton.

Directors Ho, McCorkindale and Melton will serve until the annual shareholders' meeting in 1998. During his term, Andrew Brimmer will reach the mandatory retirement age for directors and will retire at the 1997 annual meeting.

Earlier today, Gannett's directors declared a regular quarterly dividend of 34 cents per share, payable on July 1, 1995 to shareholders of record as of June 9, 1995.

Gannett is a nationwide news and information company that publishes 82 daily newspapers, including USA TODAY, and USA WEEKEND, a newspaper magazine. Gannett also operates 10 television stations, 11 radio stations and the largest outdoor advertising company in North America.
