Cherokee Inc. establishes stock repurchase program

VAN NUYS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 2, 1995--Cherokee Inc. (NASDAQ:CHKE) Thursday announced that its board of directors has approved a plan to repurchase up to 1 million shares of the company's common stock.
Under the plan, the shares can be purchased in the open market and through negotiated transactions at prices and amounts subject to the approval of a three-member committee of the board.
Cherokee, based in Van Nuys, is a marketer and licenser of the Cherokee brand products. The company is pursuing retail direct licensing agreements with major retailers in addition to exclusive as well as non-exclusive wholesale and retail licensing operations in the United States and abroad.
