SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 2, 1995--Marketta Silvera, president and chief executive officer of Pilot Network Services, Thursday announced that Thomas J. O'Rourke has joined the board of directors of the fast-growing secure Internet services provider.
O'Rourke's entrepreneurial career in the computer services and telecommunications industries stretches over more than 40 years, and includes senior management positions at General Electric, Tymshare/Tymnet, and Hambrecht & Quist. Throughout his career, O'Rourke has been involved in initial public offerings and venture fundings, and has been a board member of several firms, including Sybase and ASK Computer Systems. Currently he serves on the boards of Datum Inc. and O'Rourke Investment Corp.
O'Rourke has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, and was a regent at Santa Clara University. He joins CEO Silvera, Shanda Bahles of El Dorado Ventures, Bill Elmore of Foundation Capital, and Flynn McDonald of Vector Securities on Pilot's board.
