Business Wire, Nov 20, 1995
LOS ALAMITOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20, 1995--CRUSH(tm) Innovative Sports Systems Inc. (NASDAQ/BB:PCIE) has been contracted by the United States Army to develop a revolutionary backpack system prototype based on CRUSH's patented "quick release" fastening technology.
The system will provide soldiers with the ability to quickly release and attach numerous devices including backpacks, scuba tanks, first aid kits, communications equipment, etc. to an integrated survival vest assembly without the need to remove it.
Richard Perkins, president of CRUSH(tm) commented, "The basic design and functionality of backpacks has not really changed that much over the years. We expect to revolutionize traditional backpacks by replacing them with easy to use multi-function systems. We believe this contract represents a significant level of confidence and recognition of the technological and efficiency advantages that our patented fastening technology can contribute. With over twenty million military and civilian backpackers the growth potential for this product could be enormous."
Discussions are on-going with a leading U.S. manufacturer of outdoor sports and recreational products to investigate potential recreational and commercial applications. They have supplied CRUSH(tm) with plastic injected molded frames, packs, strap systems and technical expertise for the next prototype.
CRUSH(tm) Innovative Sports Systems Inc., develops sports related products, based on its proprietary "quick release" fastening system, for rapidly growing markets, including snowboarding and in-line skating. CRUSH(tm) products address the deficiencies of current products by providing superior levels of performance, comfort and convenience.
