ANA Tech and JDL join forces
Business Wire, Nov 29, 1995
LITTLETON, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 29, 1995--ANA Tech (an Intergraph Division) Wednesday announced that it has entered into a Business Partnering relationship with Japan Digital Laboratory (JDL) of Camarillo, Calif.
Under the terms of the relationship, JDL will resell ANA Tech s new SLI 3840 large format scanner as part of a system solution built around the JDL 4000E-II Engineering Document Plotter. The new configuration will be sold by both JDL s direct sales force and its authorized resellers as the Scan/Copy/Plot System.
ANA Tech and JDL are co-developing a custom Windows interface to link the scanner and plotter together into a configuration that is both user-friendly and production oriented. The user will be able to scale, rotate, annotate, specify scan parameters, and select file destination (including direct-to-plot) for a given document at the time of scan.
This streamlined approach to scan/plot is further enchanced by the system s ability to digitally archive any document at the user s request.
According to ANA Tech s Manager of Business Development, Glenn Coppelman, "The combination of the Eagle SLI 3840 and the 4000E-II provides users with a high quality, energetic performing system consisting of two proven, reliable components. The marriage of these products gives the marketplace a reasonably priced solution for fast scanning, fast plotting and digital archiving of large format drawings in a high volume environment."
JDL s Senior Manager, Bryan Doherty, says. "We feel certain that the SLI 3840 scanner as the input device to our 4000E-II plotter will stimulate market growth for scan-to-plot users. The 4000E-II is a remarkably fast plotter that delivers precision laser-quality plots in record time. The 4000E-II can receive, process, plot, cut and stack a 400 dpi E-size drawing on plain paper in less than one minute. Combined with the SLI 3840 s 15 second scan time for an E-size document, the system is a premier offering to the document imaging marketplace."
The ANA Tech Eagle SLI 3840 scanner was recently recognized by IMAGING magazine with its Editor s Choice Award in the large format scanning category. The JDL 4000E-II was also recently awarded the Highly Recommended rating by CADalyst Magazine in its large format plotter review.
