Q I Technologies - cashless society becoming a reality
Business Wire, Nov 29, 1995
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 29, 1995-- Instant cash is the preferred method of payment around the world, accounting for between sixty and ninety percent of all transactions.
It is estimated that about seventy-five percent of all transactions in Canada are made with cash. Last year $1.8 trillion was spent worldwide on purchases of under $10, some $560 billion of that in the United States. This represents a huge potential market for electronic cash cards.
Cash cards are the physical carriers of electronic cash. With E- CASH, you will no longer be required to carry bills in your pocket or purse or fumble for exact change, instead you will have a credit size plastic card with an embedded microchip that you fill up with E-CASH, which is purchased with traditional currency: use it for shopping, transportation, parking, dining and for vending machines etc. Goods and services can be purchased over the Internet by using your electronic cash card. The opportunities for E-CASH is immense.
Q I is developing the hardware and software to incorporate E-CASH payment in Company products and to enable electronic cash card payments to be used in existing vending machines. The Company's products will be manufactured for both the North American and overseas markets.
