New EMC enterprise storage platform bridges mainframe and open systems environments

HOPKINTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 1995 -- EMC Corporation today announced the Symmetrix Enterprise Storage Platform (Symmetrix ESP), for the first time providing simultaneous storage of mainframe and open systems data on the same Symmetrix 5000 ICDA system.

With the addition of Symmetrix ESP, customers now can take advantage of advanced Symmetrix functionality and performance in mainframe-only, open systems-only, and mixed mainframe and open systems environments.
