W.E. Bassett Company optimizes planning, productivity and service with Computer Associates Business Software
Business Wire, Nov 6, 1995
ISLANDIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 1995--Computer Associates International, Inc. is helping the W.E. Bassett Co., the leading American manufacturer of personal grooming implements, improve its competitive edge. Bassett is using CA-PRMS software plantwide to respond to its expanding needs in manufacturing, distribution and financial information access.
Bassett has grown its TRIM line to include 42 manicure implements used by millions of customers around the world. An innovative company with a history of exceptional design, quality and leading-edge manufacturing methods, Bassett needed a total business management solution that was flexible, responsive and provided real-time information access to help meet growing demand and increase its competitive edge.
"As a major supplier to the private label and OEM markets, as well as our retailers and wholesalers, we needed a robust, flexible enterprise solution that would optimize planning, productivity and service," said Allen Zwolinski, MIS director of the W.E. Bassett Company. "Our old system was very limiting. Our employees have to be able to access up-to-the-minute, accurate plantwide information --from customer service, accounting or the manufacturing shop floor."
Before selecting CA-PRMS, the W.E. Bassett Co. conducted a multiple vendor search that included products from J.D. Edwards and Marcam Corporation. No vendor offered the level of integration that CA provided.
CA-PRMS helps thousands of clients deliver quality products and services when and where they are needed, by bringing together every aspect of the business targeted to meet market demand.
With CA-PRMS, Bassett can more efficiently make real-time decisions, synchronize manufacturing priorities with marketplace demands, simplify data management, increase auditability and controls, improve on-time shipping performance, and provide better inventory management.
"CA-PRMS will assist us in improving our bottomline--increasing our user productivity, enhancing customer service and communications, improving cash flow and reducing credit risk exposure," said Zwolinski.
The W.E. Bassett Company, founded in 1947, prevails as the industry's leading American manufacturer of personal grooming implements.
