U.S. Patent Granted to Synapsis; Invention for Credit, Debit and Money Access Cards

ENCINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 10, 1995--Synapsis Corporation, Ltd., has today been granted a United States patent by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Patent and Trademark Office, for a revolutionary, simplified and improved process for financial transaction processing.
Formally recognized as patent number 5,457,305, "Distributed On-Line Money Access Card Transaction Processing System," this system is known in the financial services and information systems communities as ElekChek.
ElekChek provides reliability with atomicity, consistency, isolation and durability while substituting the business model of transaction processing with a low cost and value-added alternative. Presently, a pilot site for ElekChek has been deployed in Las Vegas since January conducting bank card transactions for gaming customers.
Synapsis has also filed for international patents with dozens of countries in five of seven continents around the world, and fully expects to receive these patents in the near future.
Founded in 1987, Synapsis Corporation specializes in electronic form and MICR laser printing solutions serving over 2,000 customers with an emphasis in the financial services sector.
