Peter Sinclair Named Smart Valley CEO

Business Wire,  Oct 16, 1995

Valley, Inc. board of directors today announced that Peter Sinclair will serve as the new president and CEO of Smart Valley, Inc.

Sinclair will immediately replace Dr. Harry J. Saal, who announced his intention to vacate the position in June of this year.

Sinclair was previously the vice president of business development for Mastersoft, Inc., which was recently acquired by FRAME Technology. Prior to Mastersoft, he was CEO of Software Transformations, Inc., which was acquired by Novell. He has held senior management positions with Apple Computer Inc., Hewlett-Packard Company and Software Publishing Corporation. A Silicon Valley native, he currently lives in Woodside. He has a B.S. in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

"In our search for a new CEO, we looked for an individual with a strong commitment to the community and a high degree of comfort with the Smart Valley environment," said John Young, chairman of Smart Valley. "Pete has these qualities, and his hands-on operating background will fit well with Smart Valley."

"I grew up in the Valley and have witnessed the transition from orchards to industrial parks," said Sinclair. "Through Smart Valley and its projects, I feel I can help preserve our quality of life by applying the expertise of our local industries to keep the Valley competitive."

Saal was hired as the first employee of Smart Valley in September 1993. He will continue to serve on the Smart Valley board of directors.
