SG Industries opens new offices

Business Wire, Oct 17, 1995

MANCHESTER, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 17, 1995-- SG Industries, Inc., a newly formed semiconductor trading company, announced today the opening of their new offices in Manchester, MA. SG Industries was formed to help OEMs worldwide source obsolete and allocated semiconductors. The company's president, Philip Schuyler Glidden, was the former founding owner of Access Semiconductors International, Inc. Prior to starting ASI, Mr. Glidden was employed by NECS of Beverly, MA heading up their South American Division of OEM sales.

At the opening ceremonies, Mr. Glidden described his goals: "This company is wholly owned by Glidden & Williams Holdings,Ltd., a company whose roots are in the Boston shipping trade during the age of the Clipper Ship when customers put their very lives in the hands of my forefathers, traveling from Boston to San Francisco. Our clients needed our fast delivery of goods in that age and knew that the Glidden & Williams Line would deliver. Today we can ship to San Jose in 24 hours instead of two months ,and source products directly through the Internet via World-Link, a customized software package that we are in the final stages of developing. However, the level of service is still the same. People in factories throughout the world depend on our word that we can deliver parts when and where they are needed. At SG Industries, we will carry on that commitment to service each customer as if their lives depended on it."

SG Industries, Inc. currently has satellite offices in Barcelona, Spain and Sao Paulo, Brazil. They are open 24 hours a day for trading.
