Champion International Corporation Elects Lawrence A. Bossidy To Board Of Directors

STAMFORD, CT--(BUSINESS WIRE)--October 19, 1995--Champion International Corporation today announced that Lawrence A. Bossidy has been elected to the Board of Directors.
Mr. Bossidy is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AlliedSignal Inc., which he joined in 1991. From 1957 to 1991, he served in various executive and financial positions, including Vice Chairman and Executive Officer, at General Electric Company. He also is a director of Merck & Co., Inc.
The company's Board of Directors consists of 13 members, ten of whom are outside directors.
Champion is one of America's leading manufacturers of paper for business communications, commercial printing, publications, and newspapers. Headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, the company owns or manages more than five million acres of forestlands in the United States and is also a major manufacturer of market pulp, plywood, and lumber.
