Viacom announces Treasury Appointments

announced that H. Reed Nolte has been appointed Vice President, Investor Relations and Ted Mangano has been named Vice President, Insurance. The announcement was made by Vaughn A. Clarke, Senior Vice President and Treasurer of the Company.
As Vice President, Investor Relations, Nolte serves as Viacom's primary liaison with financial analysts and investors. In this capacity, Nolte manages Viacom's communications programs with the investment community and develops the Company's financial presentations to external audiences.
Nolte joined Viacom as Assistant Treasurer, Investor Relations in April 1994, after having spent five years in the Treasury Department of Paramount Communications Inc., where he served as Assistant Treasurer and Director, Banking Operations. During his years with Paramount, Nolte's responsibilities included management of an array of treasury functions, including retirement plan asset management, foreign currency exposure management, and financing foreign operations.
Previously, Nolte was with General Foods Corporation for ten years, during which time he held a variety of positions, including Treasury Services Manager, Europe and Canada, and Associate Manager, Treasury Cash Systems, among others. Nolte received a B.A. from Denison University in 1977 and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business in 1979.
As Vice President, Insurance, Mangano oversees and monitors the insurance needs of Viacom and each of its subsidiaries, placing an emphasis on broad coverage and appropriate risk retention levels.
Mangano, also a former Paramount executive, joined Viacom in April 1994 as Director, Insurance, the same title he had held at Paramount since 1983. Previously, Mangano spent four years as Risk Manager of Kayser Roth, the apparel subsidiary of Gulf & Western, which later became Paramount. Earlier, Mangano was controller of Jonathan Logan Inc., an apparel manufacturer. Mangano received a B.S. from Saint Peter's College.

Viacom also has a substantial interest in Discovery Zone and a majority interest in Spelling Entertainment Group.
