Business Wire, Oct 25, 1995

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 1995-- Responding to the highly competitive consumer-PC marketplace, Hewlett-Packard Company today announced aggressive price cuts for its HP Pavilion consumer PC line in the United States, effective immediately.

"To be successful at retail, you have to be on top of any movement in the market," said IDC analyst Stephen M. Baker. "Coming into the holiday season, it is crucial to have your pricing correct. It's obvious by these price cuts that HP understands the dynamics of the consumer PC market, and they are willing to do what it takes to be successful in that market."

The price cuts affect the HP Pavilion 7000 series models, with reductions up to $200. The HP Pavilion 7000 series minitower models, based on the Intel Pentium(tm) processor, pack powerful multimedia capabilities and sport a sleek, industrial, signature design. -0-
