BroadVision Signs Key Industry Managers In Preparation For Global Market Launch; Flagship Online Commerce Application System Due to Ship in December

Inc., The One-To-One Software Company, today announced that it has hired 12 senior executives and managers to drive the development and global marketing of its application system for dynamic online marketing and selling.

The company's flagship product, BroadVision One-To-One, is due to ship to customers in December. The company has received widespread industry attention after attracting partners and investors ranging from Andersen Consulting to Ameritech Corporation, Olivetti Group, and Itochu Corporation.

The new executives are Randall Bolton, vice president of operations and CFO; Giuseppe Kobayashi, vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific and Japan; Clark Catelain, vice president of engineering; Robert Runge, vice president of marketing; Kerry Champion, senior director of engineering; Michael Kennedy, senior director of marketing; Shomit Ghose, director of interactive services; Dr. Eric Golin, director of software development; Rani Hublou, director of online marketing; Matsumitsu Kibayashi, director of business development, Japan; John Mayerhofer, director of business development, Europe; and Helena Winkler, director of partner programs.

New Vice Presidents Oversee Finance, Engineering, International Marketing

As vice president of operations and CFO, Randall Bolton is responsible for supporting the company's sales force and maintaining the internal financial systems necessary to sustain the company's rapid growth. He was previously CFO of BioCAD Corp., a private software company in the biotech industry. His experience also includes senior financial positions at Teknekron Corp., Bowers Imaging Technologies, Oracle Corp., and Tandem Computers Inc. Bolton explained, "I joined BroadVision because the company offers not only the potential to make a significant mark on the Internet's World Wide Web -- the fastest-growing area of today's software and services market -- but also the leadership of a visionary CEO with a track record of success."

Heading up BroadVision's Asia Pacific and Japan operations as vice president and general manager is Giuseppe Kobayashi, managing all marketing, business development and sales activities in the region. "We have seen strong interest in the Pacific Rim for BroadVision's One-To-One online marketing and selling applications, especially in Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan," Kobayashi stated. "The product's unique 3-tier architecture and dynamic approach to managing customers, promotions and transactions get right to the heart of this region's commitment to leading the online revolution." Prior to joining BroadVision, Kobayashi served as managing director, Asia Pacific operations, for ShareBase Corporation; managing director, Japan & Korea operations, Teradata Corporation; and general manager, Gain Japan operations, Gain Technology.

Clark Catelain, vice president of engineering, is overseeing all product development activities as well as the company's internal MIS functions. He joins the company from Gupta Corp., where he was senior vice president, engineering & product development, for the past six years. "For the engineer," observed Catelain, "BroadVision offers the rare chance to develop a wide range of application products for the next generation of one-to-one computing -- all within the creative, exciting atmosphere of a start-up. There are few engineering opportunities that can rival BroadVision's mix of distributed object, client/server, and interactive network technology. "

Robert Runge, vice president of marketing, said, "I'm excited to be chartered with introducing a breakthrough application system exclusively dedicated to dynamically managing personalized, one-to-one customer relationships -- a clear priority for leading edge businesses going into the next century." Prior to joining the company, Runge was director of product marketing for Sybase, Inc.'s Intermedia Product Architecture and joined the database company after its acquisition of Gain Technology, Inc.
