Global Access to provide satellite time for Kent State University's first live presidential broadcast; Video address from Geneva to reach more than 1,000 parents and students in U.S

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 31, 1995--Global Access Telecommunications Services Inc., a leading provider of worldwide satellite and fiber transmission services for the television and video industry, announced that it has been selected to provide the live video feed broadcasting Kent State President Carol A. Cartwright's Parents Day address from Geneva, Switzerland back to the Kent State campus on Nov. 4.
Cartwright, in Geneva to visit Kent State students participating in the Study Abroad Program, will speak to 1,000 parents and students assembled in Kent State University's student center in Kent, Ohio.
The partnership between Global Access and Kent State University strengthens the university's commitment to global educational outreach, utilizing technology to reach an advanced level of communications. "Global Access is allowing us to expose our students to what's available in today's marketplace," Cartwright said. "This broadcast graphically illustrates to our students and their parents our capability to maximize our resources by seizing this realistic teaching opportunity within the context of the technological teaching advances being pioneered at Kent.
