U.K.'S Midland Bank outsources data center maintenance to Unisys in $15 million award

BLUE BELL, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 1995--Midland Bank, one of the largest retail banks in the United Kingdom, has awarded Unisys Corp. a three-year, $15 million contract to maintain and support the bank's data centers.
Midland is the first major retail bank in the U.K. to outsource its data center maintenance and support requirements.
Midland selected Unisys for its service management expertise and proven ability to deliver quality multivendor support solutions. Under the agreement, Unisys will ensure high availability of business-critical systems running on Amdahl and IBM mainframes, Unisys enterprise servers, and equipment from Digital, Memorex and StorageTek.
