Kodak selects Ogilvy & Mather for corporate brand advertising campaigns

Business Wire, Sept 14, 1995

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 1995--Eastman Kodak Company today announced it has selected the advertising agency of Ogilvy & Mather to manage and produce its new worldwide, corporate brand advertising and marketing campaign.

"This decision follows an exhaustive review aimed at producing a world class advertising and marketing campaign that demonstrates Kodak's leadership in imaging -- in all its forms," said George M.C. Fisher, Kodak CEO.

"We have much to communicate. Kodak has the capability and opportunity to launch a new era in personal, business and commercial imaging," Fisher added. "Customers today are just beginning to become aware of the truly phenomenal possibilities that digital technology brings to the enjoyment and utility of photography. We are confident this campaign will ignite their imagination and interest in the power of imaging."

The assignment with Ogilvy & Mather includes all forms of media advertising. Advertising is scheduled to begin during the first quarter of 1996.

"This new corporate brand campaign is one of many marketing tools we will use to drive significant new growth for Kodak and for the photographic industry," said Carl Gustin, senior vice president and Chief Marketing Officer. "Kodak's leadership in both film and digital imaging technologies will make pictures part of our everyday language -- the applications for weaving images into our day- to-day communications are limited only by one's imagination."

This announcement has no impact on the current assignments for the company's existing advertising agencies, including J. Walter Thompson and Young & Rubicam.
