Martin Frost to assume additional responsibility as head of South Europe for Seagram Europe & Africa Division

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September 15, 1995--The Seagram Spirits And Wine Group today announced the promotion of Martin Frost, Executive Vice President - Business Development and Strategic Planning, who will have the additional responsibility for heading South Europe within the Seagram Europe & Africa division. Mr. Frost will retain his current position and, in that capacity, will report to Steven Kalagher, President of The Seagram Spirits And Wine Group. As head of South Europe, he will report to Paul Breach, President of Seagram Europe & Africa.
"Martin brings significant all around business experience to this expanded role and his expertise in the strategic planning area, in particular, will be a tremendous asset for us," said Mr. Kalagher. "I believe Martin will prove to be a strong leader to oversee the future development of these important markets within Europe," he added. In his additional role as head of South Europe, Mr. Frost will be responsible for Seagram's operations in Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium and Switzerland.
Mr. Kalagher noted two significant achievements in which Mr. Frost played a critical role: Seagram's securing marketing and distribution rights to Absolut Vodka in the United States and major international markets and establishing the industry's first wholly-owned affiliate in India. Mr. Frost joined Seagram in 1989, as Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Seagram Europe and has since held several key positions within the Spirits And Wine Group in the strategic planning area. Prior to joining Seagram, Mr. Frost held several senior operating posts with Pepsico in Europe and the Middle East.
Seagram Europe & Africa, based in London, is a division of The Seagram Spirits And Wine Group. It coordinates the sales, local marketing and distribution operations in 18 countries - Austria, Belgium, the Czech and Slovak Republics, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, South Africa, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. The Division also coordinates activities of other markets where Seagram has either a joint venture or third party distributor arrangements - C.I.S., Eastern Europe, Republic of Ireland, the Middle East, and Africa. In addition, the division coordinates The Seagram Company Ltd.'s local production activities in Austria, Germany, Italy and Portugal.
