Humanic Design Corp. announces international version of EMPIRE/SQL HRIS product

Business Wire, Sept 18, 1995

MAHWAH, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 1995--Humanic Design Corp. announces the introduction of EMPIRE/SQL International, a new version of its premier Human Resource Information System, EMPIRE/SQL.

The new product allows United States-based companies to deploy EMPIRE/SQL to both their U.S. and International locations creating a single database for all employee information.

"Now companies that have international locations can integrate all of their employee information in a single database allowing for increased productivity and limiting redundancy," said John Spirig, HDC's vice president of product management. "EMPIRE/SQL International is aimed at the U.S.-based company that has employees outside the U.S. and/or operations in foreign locations."

EMPIRE/SQL International has a generic language conversion feature that recognizes the language preference of the end user and displays the application screen in that language. End users can also control the actual language conversions through the use of a utility reference table which easily allows for the customization of the screen literals, database reference information and application messages.

Other features of EMPIRE/SQL International include a currency conversion function that allows employee salary information to be stored in the local currency while providing the ability to display that salary in any other equivalency maintained in the system, including the U.S. equivalent.

EMPIRE/SQL is the industry's first open client/server HR system. A 100 percent pure Oracle-based system, EMPIRE/SQL is built completely on the Oracle RDBMS with Oracle development tools making all aspects of the system non-proprietary, allowing for cost effective and efficient development, modification and customization activities.

As a result, it runs on virtually every hardware platform, operating system or network protocol, including PC networks, midrange UNIX platforms, and mainframes. It features an open graphical user interface (GUI) with client versions for MS Windows, Macintosh, Motif and other X-based Windows GUIs.

Founded in 1982, Humanic Design Corp. is dedicated to providing leading-edge, technology-based HR software and related services to companies throughout the United States, Canada and South America. HDC services its clients -- Fortune 500 and smaller companies -- from its headquarters in Mahwah and regional offices in Los Altos, Calif.

In addition to offering a 100 percent pure Oracle-based solution, now with IVR, and Payroll interfaces, EMPIRE/SQL will also soon offer scanning, imaging and workflow-enabled capabilities. For more information contact Humanic Design Corp. at 201/825-8887.
