TORONTO, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 21, 1995--PC DOCS GROUP INTL INC. (TSE:DXX)(NASDAQ:DOCSF) PC DOCS Group International Inc. today announced that its U.S. subsidiary, PC DOCS, Inc. and Adobe Systems Inc. have signed a strategic development, marketing and licensing agreement whereby PC DOCS will create and market a new product line based on the Adobe(TM) Acrobat(TM) and Acrobat Capture(TM) technologies. The new product line will enable corporate customers to use PC DOCS's award winning product, DOCS Open, to automatically create Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files, manage PDF files and build hyperlinked collections that can be easily accessed and distributed over corporate networks, or on the Internet.
"We are excited that this agreement with Adobe will bring a whole new level of capability to the market, providing customers a way to both manage and reuse their electronic information and to harmonize their document management, electronic publishing and Internet strategies," stated Larry Bohn, Executive Vice President of PC DOCS Inc.. "Acrobat has become the defacto standard for electronic distribution and with the new Internet capabilities and the Acrobat Capture product, we can provide an end-to-end document management solution that spans the whole document lifecycle."
"Acrobat technology is rapidly becoming a standard for universal electronic publishing within corporations and across the Internet", said Stephen A. MacDonald, Senior Vice President at Adobe Systems Incorporated. "The open architecture of Acrobat technology makes it ideal for integration with critical business applications such as document management. Together, Acrobat and DOCS Open offer customers the competitive advantage of an end-to- end, enterprise document management solution."
