Cylink Offers Affordable, Standards-Based Information Security Developer's Program; The Passport Partner's Program offers software developers access to data security software — including public key cryptography and digital signatures
Business Wire, Sept 25, 1995
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 25, 1995--Cylink Corporation announced today the formation of its Passport Partner's Program.
The first product to be offered within the Passport Partner's Program, is Passport Gold -- which for a single flat-fee, provides a complete information security library for software developers wanting to provide the strongest security possible within their products.
The purpose of the Passport Partner's Program is to remove the barriers that prevent software developers from incorporating top notch information security within their products.
Passport Gold contains CYLINK's Secure Enterprise Architecture (S.E.A.Stack), an integrated collection of proven, cryptographic software modules that provide access, authentication, integrity and privacy through the application of standards-based public key cryptography, such as Diffie-Hellman public key, Digital Signature Algorithm (DSA), the Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA), the Digital Signature Standard (DSS), the Data Encryption Standard Algorithm (DES) and SAFER (an exportable encryption algorithm).
By using the open standards above, this allows for interoperability with other secure software and hardware products.
"Recent news has shown just how important it is to have strong security for transacting business over private or public networks -- like the Internet," said David Morris, vice president of marketing, CYLINK. "Passport Gold is being released at a time when information security has become the most crucial element for conducting electronic commerce."
By incorporating S.E.A.Stack into Passport Gold, CYLINK is providing software developers with a trusted, proven, cost-effective way to have the same commercial-grade information security functionality within their products that CYLINK has within its enterprise-network security products. Passport Gold contains the highest level of public key cryptography available anywhere.
For a flat-fee of $30,000, software developers receive an "unlimited" usage license to the standards-based public key cryptography capabilities contained within the Passport Gold developer's library. Early participants in CYLINK's Passport Partner's Program include, Cisco Systems, FTP Software and NetManage.
