Business Wire, Sept 26, 1995

PLEASANTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 26, 1995--Gateways To Space, Inc. (OTC:GWTS) announced today that former NASA Apollo 12 Astronaut Richard "Dick" Gordon, Jr. will make several appearances in the San Francisco Bay Area on Thursday, Sept. 28, 1995.

Gordon will be promoting the first tape in the new 13-tape home video series Star Scouts Discover NASA, which goes on sale Nov. 29, 1995 at 11:34 a.m. in grocery and drug stores nationwide.

The first stop on Gordon's agenda is FAO Schwartz in San Francisco at 7:15 a.m., where he will be interviewed in front of the giant Space Shuttle built out of Lego's building blocks. The interview will be aired live on KTVU's Mornings's on 2. At 1:30, Gordon will arrive at Castro Valley Elementary School, where he will address children who have seen the tape, and answer their questions about space.

He is available for additional interviews between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and the media is invited to attend the assembly at Castro Valley Elementary School. Gateways To Space will also have award-winning producer Stacey Poulos of Playback Film and Video Productions video tape the entire day's events.

The Star Scouts Discover NASA series, produced by Gateways to Space, features former NASA astronauts Richard "Dick" Gordon, Jr. (Gemini 11 and Apollo 12) and Charles "Pete" Conrad, Jr. (Gemini 5, Gemini 11, Apollo 12, and Skylab 1), who are committed to educating America's children on the history of the NASA space program. The tapes also introduce two "stow-aways" Cygy and Zendo, who are state-of-the-art computer animated space aliens. Along with seven children, the video integrates the whole cast, including Cygy and Zendo, in live action along with actual NASA footage.

According to Louis G. Karabochos, chairman of the board, president and CEO of Gateways to Space, "In the face of today's trend towards violence in children's programming, we introduce our series with the intent to make a difference in children's lives." Gateways to Space will also give 10% of net profits to the Gateways to Space Foundation, a non-profit group designed to fund various child-related charities and projects.

Karabochos also stated, "No other `edutainment' product in the marketplace offers the excitement and drama of America's history in space while entertaining children ages 5 - 12." Star Scouts Discover NASA recently received The Dove Foundation's Seal of Approval, recommending the series for family viewing.
