ArcSoft Announces Free Slide Show Screen Saver for Windows; Lets Users Create Personalized Screen Savers Showing Photo Collections

Business Wire, April 16, 1996

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 16, 1996--ArcSoft, Inc., makers of PhotoStudio photo editing software, today announced the release of a slide show screen saver for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. The software, available for free downloading from www.arcsoft.com, transforms any PhotoStudio photo "album" into a slide show screen saver. With this utility, people can create their own customized screen savers -- for example, showing their family photos or pictures from a recent trip.

The screen saver boasts over 100 transition effects (fade, curtain, slide, etc.) and configures as a standard screen saver under the Windows 95 or Windows 3.1 Control Panel. There is no charge for the program, but it only works with PhotoStudio albums (collections of pictures). ArcSoft also offers a free 30-day version of PhotoStudio for Windows from their web site, so users can download both PhotoStudio and the slide show screen saver and use them together for 30 days without buying anything.
