S. Peter Albert elected vice chairman of Jefferson Bank

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 26, 1996--S. Peter Albert, former president and chief executive officer of Meridian Mortgage Corp., was elected vice chairman of Jefferson Bank.
Albert has been a director of Jefferson Bank since 1989. Jefferson is a subsidiary of JeffBanks Inc. (NASDAQ:JEFF), the second largest financial institution headquartered in Philadelphia.
"Pete's enormous experience in the mortgage industry and his relationships in the community will be of great value to Jefferson," said Harmon S. Spolan, president of Jefferson Bank, to whom Albert will report.
Albert has 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, starting as a mortgage originator with Fidelity Bond & Mortgage Corp., which he left as president, chairman, and CEO. He founded and served as president and CEO of Meridian Mortgage Co., which originated more than $1 billion annually in single family loans.
He was a director of the Regional Advisory Board of the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) and a member of the Board of Governors of the Mortgage Bankers Association.
Prior to serving NFL Films as executive vice president, Albert was president and CEO of Quantum Marketing International Inc., an international television direct marketing company with sales of approximately $80 million.
