Business Wire, April 30, 1996
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 1996--Radnet, Inc. will demonstrate the beta version of WebShare, the first groupware designed from the outset to take advantage of Internet World Wide Web technology and corporate Intranets, at the Spring Internet World '96 trade show. Radnet will demonstrate the product in Booth #102 at the show, which will be held April 30-May 2 at the San Jose Convention Center. Like Lotus Notes, WebShare helps companies to boost productivity by creating groupware applications that intelligently share information. But unlike other groupware products, WebShare makes it easy and affordable to gain immediate benefits, and doesn't require companies to modify their networks or distribute, install and maintain complex client software. Instead, WebShare users access their groupware applications from their favorite Web browser.
"WebShare allows companies to easily roll out customized groupware solutions to internal teams by taking advantage of the infrastructure of their Intranets and the World Wide Web," said Ed Fredkin, president and CEO of Radnet. "Most companies provide employees with Internet access and Web browsing capability - or are well on their way to deploying an internal Intranet. For those companies, WebShare offers a way to add new groupware applications in minutes. This means companies can gain the paybacks from using groupware to improve corporate information flow and productivity almost immediately."
WebShare is designed for internal corporate Web developers and webmasters, ISVs and resellers building groupware applications for Intranet and Internet deployment. WebShare offers the ability to quickly and easily create groupware applications that readily share document-oriented information in an intelligent way. As a result, large and small teams alike can share knowledge and expertise, keep track of items or issues, communicate across geographic and time boundaries, collaborate to solve problems, or keep team members updated on the status of projects. Users can easily submit files to electronic libraries of product literature, sales presentations, diagrams and photos, so people have the vital information they need to do their jobs. WebShare was designed to use SQL to store its data, and ships with a copy of Sybase SQL Anywhere. It is also easy to integrate WebShare applications with data stored in other SQL databases.
Founded in 1995, Radnet, Inc. develops WebShare, the first family of Web browser-based groupware products for corporate Intranets and the Internet. The company's mission is to offer powerful, easy-to-use groupware products that take advantage of Intranets and Web browsers to meet the needs of organizations to improve productivity and share vital information.
