HP and Software Development Systems Announce Integration of SingleStep Development Environment with HP Processor Probes; Software Development Systems' Tools Combine with HP Processor Probes for PowerPC 603 and PowerPC 603e Microprocessors
Business Wire, April 4, 1996
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 1996--At the Embedded Systems Conference today, Hewlett-Packard Company and Software Development Systems, Inc. (SDS) announce the integration of HP's processor probes with SDS' SingleStep On-Chip Debugger, which provides a seamless environment for code development and hardware and software integration.
SDS' support for HP's processor probes includes a comprehensive ANSI C and C debugger for all PC and UNIX(R) system platforms. SDS also offers a complete family of embedded C and C compilers with full IEEE-695 ELF/DWARF and PowerPC EABI compatibility.
"Software Development Systems provides a complete set of complementary debug tools for HP's PowerPC 603/603e product offering," said David Cipriani, product marketing manager at HP's Colorado Springs Division. "Software Development Systems' true C technology, multiplatform support and leading- edge debugger make it a leader in embedded compilers and debuggers for PowerPC 603 and PowerPC 603e processors. The combination of both companies' expertise offers a great solution for software developers or hardware and software integrators."
"It is becoming increasingly important for corporations to work together to help solve development problems on today's more complex and faster RISC engines," said Jim Challenger, president of Software Development Systems.
"HP's PowerPC processor probe technology and industry-leading logic analyzers provide the ideal hardware-assisted connection to complement our family of embedded, real-time PowerPC development tools."
The combination of the HP processor probe, HP logic analyzer and HP B3740A software analyzer provides a coordinated debugging solution for tough hardware and software integration problems, including logic analysis with source- code reference, timing measurements and run control. When the HP hardware is joined with SDS' SingleStep debugger, users also can set breakpoints, single-step through code, examine variables and modify source-code variables. -0-
