Siemens offers Internet Service providers "one-stop shopping" for Internet access and applications; Newly Formed Internet Business Unit Will Address Worldwide Internet Telecommunications Market

BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 1996--Siemens Public Communication Networks Group has formed an Internet Business Unit to provide worldwide end-to-end Internet telecommunications solutions.
This new business unit, which is part of Siemens Stromberg-Carlson in Boca Raton, has worldwide responsibility for Internet solutions and brings to bear the full strength of Siemens' technology.
The initial Internet product offering will be a packaged solution of hardware and software required by an Internet Service Provider to offer telecommunication and other related services on the Internet. This new turn-key solution is available immediately.
As the systems integrator, Siemens will draw on a wide array of internal and external resources to develop innovative Internet solutions. Central to the company's approach will be the inclusion of new and existing strategic partners and other Siemens businesses which will offer their expertise in developing vertical market applications, particularly those relating to telecommunications.

Van Cullens, Senior Vice President of Business Units for Siemens Stromberg-Carlson, the Siemens U.S. company which conducts the public communication network business in North America, will head the worldwide Internet Business Unit.
