Octel to Provide Voice Messaging for AT&T Wireless Services' PCS Markets; Voice Messaging Key Component in AT&T Wireless Services' Strategy

MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 13, 1996--Octel Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: OCTL), announced today that AT&T Wireless Services has chosen Octel to provide voice processing equipment for its voice mail services in its new 1900 mhz PCS-licensed territories in the United States.

AT&T Wireless Services currently operates in approximately 25 U.S. markets, and plans to introduce its new PCS services in early 1997. Through the purchase of three Octel Sierra voice processing systems, AT&T will be able to offer its PCS customers such advanced features as cell phone answering, digital message waiting notification and enhanced paging services.
