PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 20, 1996--Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that its subsidiary Jacobs Engineering Limited in London, England, in association with Serete Industries (in which Jacobs recently purchased a 49% interest) has been awarded a contract by Societe Normande de L'Azote (SNA) to evaluate the revamp cost of their ammonia plant in Le Havre, France.

The contract value was not disclosed.

This award follows a series of studies by Jacobs to define available options to both increase capacity and reduce energy consumption. The project will be administered by Hydro Agri, France, owner of the ammonia facility of SNA. The project management and some of the detailed study work will be carried out by Hydro Agri in conjunction with HFT, the Brussels-based engineering department of Hydro Agri.

Jacobs-Serete will be responsible for the process package and preparation of the definitive estimate, and for evaluation of critical suppliers and subcontractors.

Jacobs' Group Vice President, Richard Slater, stated, "This award recognizes the combined strengths of the Jacobs-Serete alliance. Jacobs' proven ammonia technology, allied with Serete's local knowledge and project capability, will provide cost-effective solutions to benefit plant operation."
