Piracy is among the software industry's biggest challenges. The SPA and BSA estimate that illegal use of software costs the industry over $15 billion per year.
"Hand-in-hand with passive protection methods, such as consumer education and litigation, more and more software publishers have realized that the most effective solution to the problem of piracy is to actively protect their revenues with hardware-based software protection systems," Mr. Schreiman said.
Other industry leaders which have recently chosen HASP as their preferred protection solution are Graphisoft, a major vendor of architectural CAD software, and Verifone, a leader in the field of Transaction Automation solutions.
This announcement by Aladdin comes shortly after the introduction of HASP R3, the Company's next generation HASP "dongle." HASP R3 offers increased security, reliability, transparency and ease-of-use features.
