"Financial Decision Support (FDS) is concerned with providing information to executives within the finance function to support tactical and strategic decision making," said Michael Coveney, Comshare's director of enterprise business solutions marketing. "Key to FDS are an organization's planning and reporting processes which include strategic planning, medium term planning, detailed budgeting, actual vs. budget variance reporting and forecasting.
"These stages represent a continuous process with results from each stage feeding the next," continued Coveney. "What happens in many organizations, however, is that discreet systems are used for each stage. The result is a loss of integrity between systems, manual transfer of data and maintenance of multiple applications."
Comshare provides a complete range of Decision Support Applications for financial executives responsible for planning, budgeting, reporting, forecasting and analysis. The seminars will highlight the advantages of integrating these processes into a single system. Among the benefits are shorter closing and budgeting cycles, elimination of rekeying, more accurate budgets and forecasts, faster detection and response to changing business conditions, and the ability to test alternatives and monitor the results of business decisions.
