Business Objects Opens Subsidiary in Spain; Leading Decision Support Vendor Continues Aggressive Expansion to Serve Rapidly Growing Worldwide Customer Base

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 28, 1996--Business Objects (NASDAQ: BOBJY), the world's leading provider of integrated query, reporting, and online analytical processing (OLAP) tools, today announced the opening of a new subsidiary in Madrid, Spain called Business Objects Espana SL.

The opening of Business Objects Espana is in response to the rapidly growing worldwide demand for its flagship product BusinessObjects, the world's leading integrated query, reporting, and OLAP tool. Customers in Spain include Airtel, Xunta de Galicia, Retevision, and Banco Guipuzcoano.

This new subsidiary in Spain is the latest addition to Business Objects' growing list of direct sales and support locations. In the spring of this year, the company announced Business Objects Nordic AB in Stockholm, Sweden, as well as new offices in North America and distributors in Latin America and Asia Pacific.
