Citrix's ICA ActiveX client downloads resume from Microsoft web site
Business Wire, August 29, 1996
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 29, 1996--Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS) today announced resumption of its WinFrame ActiveX control downloads from Microsoft's Internet Explorer 3.0 Web site. As previously announced, the company has a licensing agreement granting Microsoft a license to embed its ICA client software in upcoming versions of Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows NT operating systems.
Citrix temporarily suspended downloads of its ICA ActiveX control from third-party Web sites last week because of questions raised about the process for securing Internet-connected WinFrame servers. Upon investigation, the company learned that some Web administrators had not configured their WinFrame servers for optimal Internet security. Different security configurations are required when WinFrame servers are outside company firewalls.
