New national advertising division manager for Seattle Times Co. announced

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 30, 1996--The Seattle Times Co. has named Donna Tuggle division manager for the company's national advertising department.

This appointment was effective Aug. 26, 1996. Tuggle will report to Mike Lemke, vice president/advertising for The Seattle Times Co.

As national advertising division manager, Tuggle will manage the national sales and marketing efforts for both The Seattle Times and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, which are represented by The Seattle Times Co. She will also oversee the department's staff of 14 sales managers and representatives. National advertising categories include financial, food, entertainment, travel and travel telemarketing, electronics and gallery guides.

According to her new supervisor, Lemke, Tuggle's new position will present her with unique new challenges in terms of revenue development. "Given the ever-changing landscape of customer needs, sales/support staff synergy, competitive media, new technology and product development, her role in the advertising department will be a crucial one for our continued success."

Tuggle who has worked for the Seattle Times Co. since 1969, joined the advertising department in 1980. She has held a variety of management positions within the department, including retail administration manger, sales development manager, classified outside sales manager, classified transportation manger, and retail sales manager for the south suburban sales unit. For the past year, she has worked in The Times' operations department, serving as composition, planning and production manger.

In 1986, Tuggle was named Sales Manager of the Year for The Seattle Times Co. And in 1990, she received the Publisher's Circle Supervisor of the Year award. She will graduate from the University of Washington in March of 1997 with a degree in Social Sciences.
