Pacific Enterprises names new vice president and treasurer

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 7, 1996--Pacific Enterprises (NYSE:PET) Wednesday announced the promotion of Dennis V. Arriola, adding the title of vice president to his position as treasurer of Pacific Enterprises (PE) and Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas).

Arriola, 36, will retain his current responsibilities, continuing to report to Larry J. Dagley, senior vice president and chief financial officer of PE.

In announcing the appointment, Willis B. Wood Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of PE, said, "We are extremely pleased with Dennis' performance and the leadership he's shown," adding that, "in addition to fulfilling his treasury and financial responsibilities, Dennis has contributed significantly to financial reviews of various new business opportunities including several in the international area."

Arriola joined the PE companies in 1994 as treasurer of SoCalGas and was named PE treasurer as well the following year. He had previously been a vice president at both Bank of America and Security Pacific Bank. Arriola holds a BA in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Pacific Enterprises is a Los Angeles-based utility holding company whose principal subsidiary is Southern California Gas Co., the nation's largest natural gas distribution utility. PE also has interests in interstate and offshore natural gas pipelines, international gas distribution, electricity generation through alternate energy sources and centralized heating and cooling operations for large building complexes.
