North American Scientific Inc. announces dismissal of lawsuit

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 27, 1996--North American Scientific Inc. (OTC/BB:NASI) (VSE:NSX.V) Friday announced that a complaint filed last June by Best Industries Inc. naming North American Scientific as co-defendant, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, has been dismissed.
Hearing the plaintiff's motion for voluntary dismissal without prejudice, the court ordered ``that plaintiff's motion for a voluntary dismissal is granted on the condition that within forty- five days, plaintiff pay to defendants their costs, including attorneys' fees, incurred in this action that would not inure to the benefit of defendants in the event any future action is refiled. In the event of default of such payments, this action will be dismissed with prejudice.''
The company has filed its petition with the court for payment of such fees and costs.
North American Scientific manufactures and markets low-level radioactive sources and standards for nuclear-medicine, industrial and other commercial applications.
