Business Wire, Dec 31, 1996
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 31, 1996--ForeFront (NASDAQ:FFGI), a Houston-based provider of innovative Internet and intranet applications, today announced the release of the CNE 4.1 Self-Study Course(TM), the first interactive Computer Based Training (CBT) course on CD-ROM designed to prepare computer technicians for Novell Corporation's Certified NetWare Engineer (CNE) exams. ForeFront's CNE 4.1 Self-Study Course is available for immediate commercial shipment.
ForeFront's CNE 4.1 Self-Study Course is a comprehensive CBT program that guides users through interactive exercises, simulations, experiments and practice test questions on servicing and supporting networks and networking applications. The exercises offer practical, hands-on NetWare(R) 4.1 experience that can be reviewed step-by-step at the pace of the user.
"Network engineers are playing an increasingly important role in the evolution of corporate intranets. As a market leader in Internet and intranet applications, ForeFront is delighted to provide network engineers with a superior interactive training program to help them reach the prestigious milestone of becoming a CNE," said Dave Sikora, President and CEO of ForeFront. "The interactive approach of ForeFront's CNE 4.1 Self-Study Course meets the industry's demand for a program that combines comprehensive training in a high-retention format."
Introduced by Novell in 1989, the CNE program has become a benchmark certification program in the information technology (IT) industry. By 1996, the CNE program included more than 60,000 certified service and support professionals. To receive CNE certification, network engineers must pass seven computer-based tests that cover the required knowledge on servicing, configuring and supporting networks and networking applications.

The CNE 4.1 Self-Study Course is a part of ForeFront's suite of PC/Network Applications.
