Play-By-Play appoints Chief Financial Officer

SAN ANTONIO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 1996--Play-By-Play Toys & Novelties, Inc. (Nasdaq:PBYP) today announced the appointment of Raymond Braun to the position of Chief Financial Officer, effective January 2, 1997.
Mr. Braun replaces Juanita Lozano who will assume the role of Financial Reporting Manager at Play-By-Play.
Mr. Braun, 40, joins Play-By-Play from Coopers & Lybrand L.L.P. where he was most recently a partner in their Business Assurance group. During his 16 year tenure with Coopers & Lybrand L.L.P., Mr. Braun was directly involved with financial advisory services including mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing and debt restructuring. Mr. Braun, a Certified Public Accountant, earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas in 1980.

Play-By-Play Toys & Novelties, Inc. designs, develops, markets and distributes stuffed toys and its Play Faces line of sculpted stuffed toys and novelties based on its licenses for popular children's entertainment characters, professional sports team logos and corporate trademarks, and non-licensed stuffed toys. Play-By-Play has license agreements with major corporations engaged in the children's entertainment character business, including The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros., a division of Time Warner Entertainment Company, L.P., Marvel Entertainment Group, Inc. and many others, for properties such as Mickey Mouse, Looney Tunes, Batman, Animaniacs, and Spider-Man.
