Joel Ehrlich appointed senior vice president, advertising and promotions — DC Comics, for Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Comics; 1995 Youth Marketer of the Year to hold dual title

NEW YORK--BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 1996--Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Comics announced today the appointment of Joel Ehrlich to a new position, senior vice president of advertising and promotions -- DC Comics.
In his new position, Ehrlich will be responsible for creating integrated licensing and marketing programs for promotional partners based on the DC Superheroes, including Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, as well as for DC imprints including Vertigo and Milestone. Ehrlich will report to both George Jones, president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products Licensing and to Paul Levitz, publisher and executive vice president of DC Comics.

Ehrlich most recently held the title of senior vice president, corporate sales with the Marvel Entertainment Group. During his tenure there, he worked on successful promotions with McDonalds, Pizza Hut, General Mills, Sega and Coca Cola, among many others. He helped to create branded products for Good Humor, General Mills and Ralston, and inaugurated integrated retail promotions with Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target, Toys 'R Us, Sam Goody and Venture. In 1995, Brandweek named him Youth Marketer of the Year. Prior to Marvel, Ehrlich worked for Cahners Publishing as Publisher of Modern Bride magazine, and held executive positions in media aimed at health, families with kids, and babies.
