Sanyo begins shipping new state-of-the-art LCD multimedia projector
Business Wire, Feb 16, 1996
CHATSWORTH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 16, 1996--Sanyo's Graphics Animation and Presentation division Friday announced that it will begin shipping its PLC-510M multimedia projector.
The new cost-effective projector is available immediately through Sanyo's extensive distribution network.
Sanyo has achieved a new level of clarity with its LCD projectors by using three LCD panels incorporating the company's Thin Film Transistor (TFT) technology that utilizes a specially formulated dichoric mirror system. Sanyo's extensive research into LCD projector technology has given the projector enhanced clarity, even in large picture formats.
"Sanyo's new PLC-510M offers the ultimate quality and convenience in a portable projector, incorporating advanced polysilicon LCD panel technology," remarked Eric Kamayatsu, national sales manager for Sanyo's Graphics, Animation and Presentation division.
The PLC-510M's low profile and light weight make it a convenient companion designed for portable presentations. Brightness and contrast are nearly three times that of earlier video projectors--greater than 200 ANSI lumens (650 lux) and 921,600 pixels. With a 195 watt metal halide projection lamp, the PLC-510M generates a clear, bright image using three polysilicon LCD panels.
Compatible with both PC and Macintosh(tm) computers, the PLC-510M has a wide range of inputs including S-Video, VGA and composite video. Variable image size control allows the picture to range from 30" to 150", for easy adaptation to any presentation space.
Additional PLC-510M features include an illuminated control panel, on-screen display system and external speaker outlets. An infrared, wired remote control and built-in serial port is included in the PLC-510M's list price of $6,995.
With headquarters in Chatsworth, Calif., Sanyo Fisher (USA) Corp. markets a complete line of quality multimedia, consumer audio and video, security video, office automation, and home appliance products. SFC is a subsidiary of Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd., a major worldwide electronics manufacturer.
